Over the winter of 2013/2014, m/y AZZURRA II (CRN 47.5m 7 482 GRT) replaced Quantum Zero Speed stabilizers with Stabilis Electra SE160 Fin Stabilizers supplied by CMC Marine in Italy. The works were carried out in Aganlar Boatyard, Bodrum, Turkey.
The conversion was relatively straightforward as there was no Hydraulic Power Pack, Hydraulic Lines nor Cooling Systems to install. We also gained a lot of valuable space by removing the old system.
The new system is absolutely quiet in operation, the maintenance is exceptionally low, infrequent & simple and no spare parts need to be carried. We estimate the savings in annual & regular maintenance will pay for the system in just a few years. We feel that the performance is equal to, if not superior to our previous system.
